LIBERTY CENTER -- Eldon Lee Saul, 78, of Liberty Center, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital Critical Care.
He was born November 1, 1935, in Liberty Center, Ohio, to the late Harold J. and Beatrice "Goldie" (Snyder) Saul. On February 4, 1956, he married Arlene Dibling at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
Eldon graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1953. He was a skilled woodworker. He also farmed for a number of years, was a dairy farmer, and carpet layer with Johnson Carpet. Mornings were the best part of the day and he loved to keep busy. Eldon enjoyed his yearly travels to Tavares, Florida. He was a jokester and the family watch guard. He enjoyed the holidays and spending time with his family. He belonged to the Liberty Center Masonic Lodge 517 and was a 32nd degree Mason. He loved and seldom missed having coffee at Mitchell's with the gang. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and sharing his produce and flowers with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene; daughters, Joan (Tom) Miller, Montpelier, Ohio, Kathy (Brad) Meister and Brenda Meeks, both of Liberty Center; grandchildren, Brian (Laura) Miller, Michael (Amanda) Miller, Stephanie Jaqua, Alyssa (Jeremy) Johnson, Kristin (Darren) Campos, Megan (Kevin) Meiring, Jessica (Allen Sharp) Mitchell, Christina "Tina" (Todd) Wachtman, Steven "Bud" (Sarah Boteler) Meeks, Greg Meeks; 14 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and sisters, Lavora Johnson and Louise (Gene) Cordes, both from Napoleon.
He was preceded in death by his bothers, Duane and James Saul.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, May 30, at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Young's cemetery.
