Geraldine 'Gerrie' Weber

NAPOLEON -- Geraldine "Gerrie" Weber, 93, of Napoleon, Ohio, died peacefully Sunday, May 11, 2014.

She was born March 12, 1921, in Napoleon, to Raymond and Marie A. (Zenz) Reichert. On October 4, 1943, she married Max Weber, who preceded her in death October 12, 1962. Gerrie was a retired teacher, having taught high school and elementary school in Defiance and special education and migrant education in Henry County. She graduated from Mary Manse College, Toledo, in 1942, with a BA degree in education. Gerrie was instrumental in starting HOPE School of Westhope and served as its first administrator. She was a charter member of Study League II, Defiance, and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Napoleon.

She is survived by her children, Gwen (Ed) Raupfer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Michael (Sandi) Weber of Denver, Colorado, Max (Rachel) Weber of Santa Fe, New Mexico, James (Chris) Weber of Toledo, Fred (Peg) Weber of Hamler, Julia (Rick) Hall of Defiance, and Ann "Charlie" (Ken) Norden, Defiance; grandchildren, Nicole Guisinger, Chad Hall, Vallori Nagel, Zachary Weber, Tyler Weber, Cole Norden, Clay Norden, Alex VanDorn, Chelsea Hall, Max Weber and Cody Weber; and five great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Relue and Kathryn Paul; and brother, Vincent Reichert.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Napoleon. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, with scripture services at 4 p.m.
