HICKSVILLE -- Mason Rhoden, 81, Hicksville, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at Hickory Creek at Hicksville, Hicksville, Ohio.

Born in South Webster, Ohio, on December 22, 1932, Mason was the son of the late Jack and Lucy (Jarrells) Rhoden. On December 25, 1953, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Bumpus in Payne, Ohio, and she died on May 1, 2011. Mason worked at GM in Defiance for over 30 years, until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the Lost Creek Emmanuel Missionary Church, Farmer, Ohio.

Mason is survived by daughters, Kathy (Dave) Byers of Bryan, Ohio, and Pat (Doug) Ayers of St. Joe, Indiana; sons, Roger (Tomara) Rhoden of Edgerton, Ohio, and Greg Rhoden of Auburn, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Rhoden Jr. of Cygnet, Ohio; and sister, Betty Carter of Farmersville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by three grandsons, Ramsey Rhoden, Nathan Rhoden and Anthony Short; one brother and four sisters.

Funeral services for Mason will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Six Corners Cemetery, Hicksville, Ohio.
