NAPOLEON -- Jerry D. Gallagher, 80, of Napoleon, Ohio, died on the early morning of Friday, April 4, 2014, at Sophia's Assisted Living in Mesquite, Texas, after a lengthy illness.
He was born November 10, 1933, in McComb, Ohio, to Cecil and Mildred Gallagher. Jerry was married to Joanne Bowles, who preceded him in death on January 5, 1975. He was also preceded in death by a second wife, Violet Massey.
Jerry was a loving father and grandfather, and he will be missed. He went peacefully and is resting in the Lord. He has been reunited with his first love, our mother.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Lang-Deluna of Dallas, Texas, Peggy Hennessey of Toledo, Ohio, and Leann Thompson of Hamilton, Ohio; five grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Gallagher; sister, Melba Leatherman; and one grandson, Chad Allen Hennessey.
There will be a graveside service in memory of our dad and a celebration of our parents being reunited in death, both with our Lord and Savior. This will take place at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Holgate, Ohio, at 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014.
