NAPOLEON -- Marvin F. Behnfeldt, 78, of Napoleon, Ohio, died peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Henry County Hospital.

He was born July 19, 1935, in Freedom Township, to the late Carl and Minnie (Bergmann) Behnfeldt. On August 31, 1985, he married JoAnn Bolen at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Marvin retired from the Toledo Shipyards where he was a crane operator. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, American Legion Post 300, and the Napoleon Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; sons, Steve Behnfeldt, Chesire, Connecticut, and Lyndel (Ruby) Carpenter, Defiance, Ohio; daughter, Lisa (Rob) Daumeyer, Loveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Henry, Clare, Andy, and Amanda; great-grandchild, Aiden; sisters, Hildegarde Meyer, Ruth Bergstedt and Anita Cordes, all of Napoleon.

He was preceded in death by brother, Norman Behnfeldt.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Interment will be held at a later date at Glenwood Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Napoleon Joint Veterans Posts. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
