MAUMEE -- Ann T. Miller, 86, of Maumee, formerly of Holgate, passed away at her home on April 8, 2014.

She was born on July 20, 1927, in Marquette, Ontario, Canada, to Henry and Angeline Van Poppel. Ann was united in marriage to the late Max E. Miller Sr. on April 18, 1948, a loving marriage that lasted more than 53 years.

Ann is survived by sons, Max (Lou Ann) Miller Jr. of East Lansing, Mich., and Roger (Deborah) Miller of Basking Ridge, N.J.; grandchildren, Stephanie, Carrie, Angela, Kristi, Brian, Bradley, Matthew, David and Emily; and nine great-grandchildren. Ann is also survived by siblings, Jim Van Poppel of Napoleon, Ohio, Bob Van Poppel of Vass, N.C., Mary Klear of Continental, Ohio, Dorothy Van Poppel of Charden, Ohio, Susan Latta of Napoleon, Ohio, Evelyn Good of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Kathy Sanniti of Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Angeline Van Poppel; brother, Hank Van Poppel; and daughter, Lois (Mark) Merrill.

Ann was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church for almost 30 years, in Holgate where Ann and Max raised their children. Later moving to Maumee and attending All Saints Lutheran Church in Toledo, where both Ann and her late husband were very active. She volunteered her time and talents at the Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Ann worked many years as an administrative assistant at Campbell's Soup Company in Napoleon, Ohio.

Visitation for Ann will be on Friday, April 11, 2014, from 3-8 p.m. at Snyder Funeral Home, 209 N. Wilhelm St., Holgate, Ohio. Funeral services in honor of Ann will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 710 Joe E. Brown Ave, Holgate, Ohio.
