ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Eva Lou Bauer, 90, a former Defiance resident, passed away March 16, 2014, in St. Louis, Mo.
She was born in Defiance on Jan. 4, 1924, to the late Floyd and Gladys Morris. She was 1941 graduate of Defiance High School. Eva Lou and William H. Bauer were married on Oct. 5, 1943. They shared 63 years together before his death in 2006.
They were an active military family for over 20 years. Eva Lou was a devoted naval aviator wife and mother. She was a very talented seamstress and her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, cross stitching and quilting.
Eva Lou is survived by children, Laura, Craig (Dorie), Mike (Kathy), Chuck (Donna), Judy (Jeff), Dan (Gina), Jane (John) and Jenny (Brad); 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Cajka; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pat and Karl Steinberger; Nelson Okuley and Joan Bauer.
A funeral Mass was held on Monday, March 24, 2014, in Pensacola, Fla., followed by burial at Barrancas National Cemetery.
