MELROSE -- Randall Roughton, 54, of Melrose, died at 11 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at the University of Toledo Medical Center.

He was born September 12, 1959, in Paulding, to the late Harlon and Ocie (Saylor) Roughton.

Survivors include his soul mate, Oneda Schmeltz of Melrose; a brother, Ralph Roughton of Oakwood; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dale Roughton, Rex Roughton and Rollin Roughton; and two sisters, Ruth Dodson and Rita Groh.

Randy had worked for Cooper Farms. He had been a trainer for harness racing and also drove. He attended Melrose United Methodist Church, was an avid Pittsburg Steelers and Ohio State Buckeye fan and loved to fish.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at Melrose United Methodist Church with Rev. Eileen Kochensparger officiating. Burial will follow in Little Auglaize Cemetery, Melrose. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
