RIDGEVILLE CORNERS -- Arnold H. Bischoff, 85, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at the Golden Living Center Northcrest in Napoleon.
He was born January 28, 1929 in Freedom Township to the late Albert and Frieda (Tietje) Bischoff. On June 19, 1952, he married Eleonore (Badenhop) Bischoff at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township, who preceded him in death on July 25, 2010.
Arnold was a lifelong farmer and life member of St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township. He was active as a deacon, trustee and member of the church choir. He served overseas in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Korean War Veteran's Association, VFW Post 8218, American Legion Post 454, and Amvets post 1313.
He is survived by children, Larry Bischoff and LeRoy (Dawn) Bischoff, both of Napoleon, Carma Bischoff and Glen Bischoff, both of Defiance; grandchildren, Dan (Kim) Bischoff, Eric (Lesa) Bischoff, Laurie Bischoff, Rechelle Bischoff, and Elisha Bischoff; great-grandchildren, James, Andrew, Kwinton, and Jarrett; brothers, Donald (Glenda) Bischoff of Prairie Village, Kansas, and Shorty (Mabel) Bischoff of Napoleon.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lorna Walters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 24 at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Ridgeville American Legion Post.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and Monday 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
