NAPOLEON -- James Edward Jones, 85, of Napoleon, Ohio, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at Henry County Hospital.
He was born December 19, 1928, in Toledo, to the late James W. and Fanny (Ellsworth) Jones. He married Beverly Hoffman on December 9, 1951, enjoying 62 years of marriage. Jim was employed by Campbell Soup Company, Napoleon, as a store room supervisor for over 37 years. He was very active in various church activities, as Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, trustee, and many other positions. He served on the Patrick Henry School Board and was a 4-H leader for many years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; three sons, Michael (Bonnie) of Cincinnati, Thomas (Sharon) of Holgate, and Jeff (Linda) of Waterville; four daughters, Jeannine (Alan) Fuhrhop of Whitehouse, Valerie (Kenneth) Schulze of McClure, Wendy (John) Nashu of Defiance and Annette (Edmund) Shotwell of Delta; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Haydu and Florence Steinem of Toledo, and Marjorie (Khalid) Hameed of Friendswood, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Grelton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
