LANDECK -- Lauretta M. Kroeger Schaffer, 77, Landeck, died, Wednesday March 5, 2014, at her residence.
She was born December 4, 1936, in Ottoville, Ohio, to John and Philomena (Warnecke) Brickner, both of whom are deceased. She was united in marriage to Richard Schaffer on December 4, 1990, and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1991. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, of the CL of C No. 84, a homemaker and a health care worker.
Surviving are eight sons, Larry (Nancy) Kroeger of Landeck, Rick Kroeger of Landeck, Jim (Patty) Kroeger of Leipsic, Ron Kroeger of Landeck, Leonard Kroeger of Lima, Jerry Jr. Kroeger of Rockford, Richard (Missy) Kroeger of Findlay and Dave (Shelly) Kroeger of Delphos; three daughters, Kay (John) Siefer of Kalida, Sue (Paul) Radabaugh of Landeck and Marianne (Larry) Wiech of Columbus; two sisters, Rose (Otto) Wenzlick of Ottoville and Carolyn (Jerry) Schimmoeller of Ottoville; four brothers, Walt (Rose Ann) Brickner of Ottoville, Ralph (Sharon) Brickner of Ottoville, Steve (Sandy) Brickner of Columbus Grove and John (Joan) Brickner of Warsaw, Ind.; sisters-in-law, AnnaJean Bockey and Mary Brickner; Bill and Millie Kroeger; her first husband, Gerald Kroeger of Delphos; 25 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were sisters, Doris Ricker and Sister Catherine Brickner; a brother, Cliff Brickner; and a brother-in-law, Walt Bockey. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck, with Father Dave Reinhart officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Landeck. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. today, March 7, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. There will be a CL of C service at 7 p.m. today and a parish wake at 7:30 p.m.
