Richard 'Rich' Hogrefe

NAPOLEON -- Richard L. "Rich" Hogrefe, 44, of Napoleon, Ohio, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at his residence.

Rich was born September 25, 1969, in New London, Conn., to Rick and Linda (Gerken) Hogrefe. Rich was a 1988 graduate of Napoleon High School and worked for many years in the food industry. He was a lifelong member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, where he was baptized on October 12, 1969, and confirmed on April 15, 1984. Outside of work, he enjoyed cooking for friends and spending free time with his family, especially his nephews.

He is survived by his parents, Rick and Linda of Napoleon; brother, Dan (Brenda) Hogrefe of Liberty Center; nephews, Jakob and Evan; paternal grandmother, Marcella Hogrefe; and maternal grandfather, Lawrence Gerken.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Raymond Hogrefe; and maternal grandmother, Ruby Gerken.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Ohio 108, Wauseon. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, and Sunday from 3-4 p.m. at the church.
