NAPOLEON -- Dorothy A. Aschemeier, 91, of Napoleon, Ohio died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Lutheran Home of Napoleon.
She was born April 10, 1922, in Napoleon to the late Henry and Clara (Wachtman) Plassman. On Feb. 12, 1950, she married Arthur Henry Aschemeier at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Twp., who preceded her in death on March 6, 1969.
Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked for Klecks Bakery, Archbold. She was a life member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Twp., where she was a member of the Women of Life and altar guild. She also volunteered at the Napoleon Filling Home of Mercy.
She is survived by her children, Tony (Cathy) Aschemeier of Defiance, Anne (Bob) Rethmel of Defiance, Bill (Susan) Aschemeier of Defiance, Mary (Gary) Vance of Napoleon, Richard (Terri) Aschemeier of Ridgeville Corners, and Steve (Bonnie) Aschemeier of Defiance; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by grandchildren, Amanda and Adam Vance; and siblings, Alfred and Norma Plassman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Twp. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, and Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
