Earlene 'Monie' Sager

LIBERTY CENTER -- Earlene "Monie" Rose Sager, 86, of Liberty Center, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014.

She was born to Homer and Myrtle (Braucher) Spiess on July 7, 1927, in Henry County, Ohio. Monie married Clarence Vernon Sager in 1947, and they enjoyed 56 years together.

She worked at McCord Industries in Wauseon, Ohio, for over 40 years. Monie was an avid bowler, collected glass shoes and spent many hours nurturing her nieces and nephews. She always wanted to spend time with family and enjoyed taking naps on her couch. Aunt Monie and Uncle Clarence spent many years camping at Walden Woods, staying in their cabin in Michigan and traveling out West. They enjoyed taking their nieces and nephews along with them on vacations.

Monie is survived by her brother, Earl "Tuff" (Marilyn) Spiess; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Spiess and Elnora Davidson; and was known as Aunt Monie to four generations of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Sager; brothers, Burdette "Red" Spiess and Royce "Spud" Spiess; sister, Bettie (Ervin) Myers; and her parents.

Friends and family will be received at the Wright-Habegger Funeral Home, 302 East Maple Street, Liberty Center, Ohio, from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 08074 County Road T, Liberty Center, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2014. Interment will follow at Young Cemetery, Liberty Center, Ohio.
