FINDLAY -- Joyce M. Norris, 76, formerly of Findlay, passed away at 2:55 a.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
She was born on December 9, 1937, in Marysville, to the late Chester F. and Hazel R. (Lash) Scheiderer. On September 17, 1955, Joyce married Rev. Dwight Edward Norris in Liberty, Ind., and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2002.
Joyce is survived by a son, Gary L. (Tami) Norris of Maumee; two daughters, Roberta K. (James) Scott of Continental and Alexa S. (Andy) Sims of Westerville; a brother, Richard F. (Betty) Scheiderer of Marion; a sister, Marlene A. (Arthur) Sparks of Palm Bay, Fla.; three grandchildren, Eric Honaker, Tyler Norris and Garrett Norris; three stepgranddaughters; and 11 great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepgrandson.
Joyce worked for many years at Kroger and was a member of the East Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Women's Society. Joyce was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and formerly helped with the Holgate Harvest Festival. Joyce was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at the East Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Findlay. Pastors Debi Berry and David Noel will officiate and burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.
