PETTISVILLE -- James A. Schrock, 73, of Pettisville, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 30, 2014, at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
He was born November 16, 1940, the son of Cletus and Phoebe (Stuckey) Schrock, and married Suzanne Nafziger on September 16, 1961. A lifelong resident of the Wauseon/Pettisville area, he worked in construction over 50 years, most recently operating Jim Schrock Construction. He enjoyed traveling, the Toledo Symphony, prison ministry and most of all spending time with his family. He served on the Reach-Up board for religious services at CCNO, and was a member of the North Clinton Mennonite Church at Wauseon.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; three children, Jeff (Boots) Schrock of Wauseon, Dawn (Bill) Buege of St. Ansgar, Iowa, and Rita (Sheridan) Bilen of Archbold; six grandchildren; two brothers, Ray (Alice) Schrock of Archbold and John (Marcia) Yoder-Schrock of Donnellson, Iowa; and two sisters, Rosetta (Ken) Gorsuch of Wauseon and Mableann (Roger) Crossgrove of Archbold.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne Schrock and Dale Schrock; and an infant sister, Alice.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at North Clinton Mennonite Church with Pastors Glenn Coblentz and Brad Faler officiating. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at North Clinton Mennonite Church from 2-8 p.m. Monday. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
