DESHLER -- Enrique "Henry" Alvarez, Jr., 68, of Deshler, Ohio, died Thursday morning, January 16, 2014.
Henry worked at General Motors, Defiance, Ohio, and retired after 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, San Juanita "Jayne"; children, Cynthia (Hector) Padilla-Raymundo, Lisa (Brian) Fox, Tracy Alvarez-Pina, and Eric Alvarez; 15 grandchildren, Raul Padilla II, Angelica Padilla, Christina Padilla, Priscilla Padilla, Cynthia Padilla, Sophia Padilla, Andrew Almanza, Sonja Michaelis, Erica Brown, Meah Almanza, Marina Pina, Reina Pina, Sarah Moser; Brittany Alvarez, and Gabby Alvarez; six great-grandchildren, Xavier De Anda, Julian Ruiz, Elena Simmons, Cory Simmons, Tamara Almanza, and Ian Brown; sisters, Sylvia (Lupe) Rivera, Teresa Shope, Irene Delgado, and Sandra Strawman; and brothers, Carlos Ochoa, Jr., Armando Ochoa, Felix Ochoa and Rudy Ochoa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique Alvarez and Elena Esquivel-Ochoa; a sister, Elia Sanchez; and a son-in-law, Raul C. Padilla.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler. Interment will follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Hamler, Ohio.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, with rosary services at 7:30 p.m.
