WAUSEON -- Daniel Paul Sheets, 54, of Wauseon, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Mercy St. Vincent's Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born on January 4, 1960, to Paul and Mary (Cavanaugh) Sheets in Defiance, Ohio. On November 7, 2004, he married Lynda Dunbar and she survives.
Daniel drove tow motor in the warehouse for Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon for 34 years. He was a life member of the Sons of the AMVETS, Defiance, where he served as commander and 1st vice president for many years. He was also a member of the Sons of the VFW and the Sons of the American Legion in Wauseon and the Eagles of Defiance. He loved his 1973 Z-28 Camaro and also enjoyed grilling and traveling.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Lynda; mother, Mary Margaret Sheets of Pleasant Bend; son, William (Lisa) Sheets of Hicksville; daughter, Tiannah Sheets of Defiance; stepsons, Nathan Sobieck of Bowling Green, Chase Sobieck of Dayton; stepgranddaughter, Lauren Cline; grandsons, Tatum Sheets and Carter Sheets; brothers, Douglas Sheets of Pleasant Bend, Kenneth Sheets of Angola, Ind., Andrew Sheets of Stryker, Jeff (Cheryl) Sheets of Pleasant Bend, Mathew Sheets of Hamler; sisters, Yvonne Sheets of Defiance, and Rose Ann (Dan) Froelich of Cecil.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Herman Sheets; and a sister, Barbara Sheets.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with a rosary service to be held at 4 p.m. Calling is on Monday, January 13, 2014, one hour prior to the services. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2014, at the funeral home with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating.
