Veulah Hornish LeFevre, 96, of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

She was born on May 16, 1917, to John and Elizabeth (Bishop) Hornish in Defiance County. Veulah married Albert W. LeFevre in 1974, and he passed away in 1991.

She was a lifetime member of Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren. Veulah worked at several different places including the Toledo Edison retiring in 1976, the Home Saving & Loan, the Defiance County clerk's office, B.F. Goodrich and the Valu Dress Shop. Veulah also donated her time at the Defiance Regional Hospital and helped with Meals on Wheels for many years.

Veulah is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Albert; and brothers, Glenn, Richard and Virgil Hornish.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren, with the funeral service immediately following at 2 p.m. Pastor Benjamin Polzin will officiate. Burial will follow in Poplar Ridge Cemetery.
