Sharon R. Fulton, 74, of Defiance, passed away on December 23, 2013, at her residence with her family at her side.

She was born on August 2, 1939, to Robert and Carmen (Hobling) Chandler in Sylvania, Ohio. She was a 1957 graduate of Burnham High School in Sylvania. On May 20, 1961, she married Jack Fulton, and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2012. Sharon worked as a bank teller at the State Bank and Trust in Defiance for a number of years where she met many people who later became very close friends.

She was a very active member of Ayersville United Methodist Church, and a former member of First Presbyterian Church and St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Defiance.

Sharon is survived by her loving daughters, Cheryl Leksan of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Leigh Anne (Tomas) Hood of Omaha, Neb.; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and close family friends, Linda and Brian Hall and children, of Defiance, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by husband, Jack L. Fulton; father, Robert Chandler; mother, Carmen Chandler.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio, and 10-11 a.m. at the church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Ayersville United Methodist Church, Defiance, Ohio, with Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery.

There will be a luncheon provided at the church immediately following the burial. Memorials are suggested to the Ayersville United Methodist Church or CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center. Online condolences can be given at www.Schafferfh.com.
