FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Juan Torres, 72, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away at his home on Friday, December 20, 2013.
He was born on June 30, 1941, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, to the late Eugenio and Angelina (Santiago) Torres Sr. He moved to the United States in 1959. He worked for Wayne Metal Protection Company in Fort Wayne for 45 years, retiring in 2008.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Eva M. Torres of Fort Wayne; a son, Orlando Torres of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Annette Torres and Gloria (Dan) Hough; two brothers, Eugenio Torres Jr. and Luis A. (Olga) Torres, both of Fort Wayne; six sisters, Luz Maria Ortiz of Fort Wayne, Antonia Leal of Defiance, Ohio, Elisa (Cristobal) Jordan, Juanita (Alberto) Palacios, Edelmira (Onnie) Drewery and Maria Bilger, all of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Dian and Bianca Suarez and Adrian Torres; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ana Gonzalez and Carmen Torres.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013, at Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne, with a reciting of the holy rosary at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave., Fort Wayne, with calling held one hour prior from 10-11 a.m. Officiating will be Father Timothy A. Wrozek and burial will take place in Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
