COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Marcella Jane "Marci" Hoffman, 71, of Cookeville, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital, in Greenwood, Ind.

Marcella was born in Napoleon, Ohio, on June 20, 1942, a daughter of the late Laurena (Plassman) Bruns and Albert Arps. Mrs. Hoffman worked as a travel agent in several cities around the country. She started Heavenly Treasures Resale Shop to help Heavenly Host Lutheran School, and was very active in the church with the Care and Share program, the Linus Blanket program and the Knit for Kids Worldwide, and was president of the Local Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Marcella is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ronald Lee Hoffman of Cookeville, Tenn.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dean A. and Cindy Hoffman of San Antonio, Texas, David J. Hoffman of Houston, Texas, and Daniel L. and Elizabeth Hoffman, Columbus, Ind.; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Carol Ann and Donald Briggs of Billings, Mont., Beverly and Curt Robinson of Minneapolis, Minn., Florence Willeman of Napoleon, Ohio, and Jeanette and Chris Manos of Denver, Colo.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Beverly Arps of Okolona, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Laurena Briggs.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hoffman will be held Tuesday, December 10, beginning at 4 p.m. (CST) at Heavenly Host Lutheran Church in Cookeville, Tennessee, with Pastor Andrew Smith officiating. A committal service will be conducted on Saturday, December 14, beginning at 1 p.m. (EST) at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Ridgeville Corners, Ohio, with a luncheon to follow at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 9, from 5-8 p.m. at Crest Lawn Funeral Home, and Tuesday, December 10, at Heavenly Host Lutheran Church from 3:45 p.m. until the time of service.
