Harold Grossheim

Harold A. Grossheim, 81, of Defiance, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013, at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Heart & Vascular Center in Toledo.

He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on April 18, 1932, the son of the late Albert and Helen (Schlichting) Grossheim. Harold was a member of St. John Catholic Church where he was a long-time usher. He was a volunteer member of the South Richland Fire Department and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was currently working at NAPA in Defiance and had previously worked at the Compo Corp. He married Beatrice Arend in 1977 and she survives.

Also surviving are five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie (Peters) Grossheim; a son and daughter who died in infancy; and a brother, Herbert Grossheim.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Friends are invited to call Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
