BRYAN -- Ruthanne Hurley, 67, Bryan, died at 2:40 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center after an extended illness.
Ruthanne Hurley was a graduate of Bryan High School and worked at Ohio Citizens Bank as a teller for 20 years and then for the Ramada Inn in Montpelier, where she was front desk clerk for nearly 20 years. She was a longtime member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233 and an avid motorcyclist. The focus of her life was her grandchildren, whom she loved to travel with, taking many trips over the years.
Ruthanne Hurley was born on September 16, 1946, in Stryker, Ohio, the daughter of Wilson and Vivian (Lirot) Shetler. Survivors include her daughter, Kelly (Keith) Layne of Defiance; four grandchildren, Andrew and Ian Rakes, Kiera Kirk and Nick Layne; and two sisters, Sharon (John) Brownlee of Defiance and Diane (Phillip) Frager of Edgerton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband and longtime friend, Jim Hurley.
Visitation for Ruthanne Hurley will be held Friday, December 6, 2013, from 1-3 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
