WESTERVILLE -- Wayne Lee Walters, 77, of Westerville, Ohio, passed into the arms of Jesus at 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at St. Ann's Hospital, Columbus.
He was born February 14, 1936, in Ayersville, to the late Donald and Lena (Ducatt) Walters. On August 3, 1978, he married Mary Kaye (Horstman) Walters, who survives in Westerville.
Surviving are his children, Jason Siebeneck, Noblesville, Ind., Kai (Kaci) Spande, Bad Soden, Germany, Jaimine Johnson, Westerville, Ohio, Lucinda Calhoun, Palmyra, Va.; six grandchildren, Garrett Dempsey, Zackary Dempsey, Maredith Dempsey, Madison Spande, Devon Spande, Hunter Johnson; a brother, Harold E. (Shorty) Walters, Defiance, Ohio; a sister, Marion Breneman, Colorado; nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Donald Prowant.
He was preceded in death by his son, Alan Walters; brother, Rowland Walters; and sister, LaVern Etter.
Wayne was a retired project manager for commercial projects, and recently was a driver for Byers Ford in Delaware. He was a lay pastor who served in communities across the country.
His celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Glandorf. Gathering of family and friends will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.
