Ruby Schuller, 89, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013, at the Laurels of Defiance.
She was born on July 8, 1924, to Grover and Lydia (Rahmer) Kunkle in Bryan. On December 23, 1950, she married Fred Schuller and he passed away August 2, 1987.
Ruby was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and its Progressive Class. She was a charter member of the Bryan BPW and a member of the Defiance Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Ruby was secretary and cashier-hostess at Spencer Elementary School for 40 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, decorating, and garage sales.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Betty (Donald) Wonderly of Hicksville; son, David Kunkle of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; nephews, Robert Kunkle of Reno, Nev., and Tom (Sue) Kunkle of Charleston, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Robert Kunkle; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, with Rev. Joe Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.
