Elva Belle (Jameson) Nickelson, 97, of Defiance, passed away peacefully at 10:20 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2013, at Twin Rivers Nursing Center, Defiance, surrounded by friends and family.
Elva was born in Hancock County, Ohio, to Ira and Edna Belle (Ellinwood) Jameson on February 19, 1916. She graduated from Arcadia High School and marred Ottis A. Nickelson in February of 1938. Ottis preceded her in death in November of 1989.
Elva was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, gardener, volunteered for Gray Ladies at Findlay Hospital, and made clothing for the disabled children at the Hattie Larlham Foundation near Cleveland. She worked for many years as a quality control inspector at the RCA plant in Findlay. She was a member of the Enon Valley Presbyterian Church, Findlay, and the Biglick Grange.
Elva is survived by her daughters, Kay (Bob) King of Midland, Texas, and Sharon (Dan) Farrell of Defiance, Ohio; five grandchildren, Juliene (Ted) Haskins of Milford, Ohio, Cris (Josh) Shock of Defiance, Ohio, Lisa (Brian) Muldoon of Avon, Ohio, Nichole Mosely and Kyle (Shea) King of Waco, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ellie, Danny, Jaiden, Gracie, Rylan, Ava, Adelynn, Brighton, Hudson, and Presley. She is also survived by two brothers, Irvin (Donna) Jameson of Port Clinton, Ohio, and Raymond (Mary) Jameson of Findlay, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend and nurse, Sandy Morris.
Three sisters, Jeannete Lenhart, Lenore Martin and Kathryn Rager, as well as three brothers, Wilbur, Alford, and Elmer Jameson, are greeting her in heaven.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013. Pastor Tom Everett of Enon Valley Presbyterian Church will officiate, and burial will follow in McComb Union Cemetery, McComb, Ohio.
