Craig Allen Bishop, 57, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on March 7, 1956, to Daniel L. and Betty J. (Smith) Bishop in Bryan, Ohio. On May 14, 2012, he married Ellen (English) Bishop and she survives. Craig was a U.S. Army veteran serving as a medic in the 3rd Division from 1980 to 1984. He as an employee of Sauder Manufacturing, Archbold, Ohio. Craig loved the outdooors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen; father, Daniel L., of Bryan; sons, James (Sarah Colclasure) Bishop of Bryan, Collin Bishop of Defiance; daughters, Elizabeth Saylor of California, Sarah Dyess of Defiance; granddaughter, Dacey K. Bishop; grandson, Wyatt Johns; sisters, Pamela Bishop of Bryan, Dina (Michael) Culler of Bryan; sisters-in-law, Vicky (John) Lotz of Tennessee, Bernadette Bokerman of Arizona; niece, Salli Jones of Fairborn, Ohio; nephews, Nicholas Jones of Bryan, Sean Culler of Bryan, Bernie Jones of Bryan, Sam Culler of Bryan, Ryan Bokerman of Arizona, Brentan Bokerman of Arizona, Grant Bokerman of New York; and his faithful dogs, Bandit and Tawny.

He was preceded in death by mother, Betty J. Bishop.

Visitation will be held from noon-1 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Defiance Christian Church, 955 Standley Road, Defiance, with a memorial service being held immediately at 1 p.m. with Rev. William Mesaeh Jr. officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
