WEST UNITY -- Alan R. Watson, 47, of West Unity, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 30, 2013, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, after a brief illness.
Alan was born May 17, 1966, in Montpelier, the son of Kenneth L. Sr. and Shirley A. (Montondo) Watson. He was a 1984 graduate of Hilltop High School in West Unity. Alan was employed by Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Defiance. He had also worked as a security officer at Campbell Soup in Napoleon. He was a member of Harvest Life Fellowship in Defiance. Alan was a volunteer at New Life Worship Center Food Pantry in Bryan. He enjoyed photography and being involved with church activities.
Surviving is his mother, Shirley A. Watson, of West Unity; two brothers, Kenneth (Teresa) Watson Jr., of West Unity and Frederick (Theresa) Watson of McClure, Ohio; one sister, Rachel Watson of West Unity, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth.
Memorial services for Alan R. Watson will be held at a later date at Harvest Life Fellowship in Defiance. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 202 North Liberty Street, West Unity.
