TAMPA, Fla. -- Isabelle Velma (Leach) Coles, 95, of Tampa, Florida, and former Defiance area resident, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013.
She was born December 1, 1917, in Jewell, Ohio, and was the daughter of John and Emma (Minsel) Leach.
Isabelle is survived by her three sons, Terry Coles of Fort Wayne, Ind., Larry (Rosalinda) Coles and Jerry (Anita) Coles of Tampa, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and Waldo Leach; and two sisters, Vera (Loveless) and Lauretta (Reiser).
Isabelle was a hard-working and patriotic citizen and supported her country by working in parts factories during World War II, retiring in the retail industry. She had a passion for cooking and enjoyed sitting home with loved ones.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 7, 2013, at noon in the Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with Rev. Michael Donnally officiating. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until the time of service. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Defiance.
