ANTWERP -- Clair Brandenburg, 71 of Antwerp, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at his residence.
Clair was born in Jackson, Mich., on June 9, 1942, a son of the late Leota (Miller) and Vadis Brandenburg. He was a machinist at Dana Weatherhead and BF Goodrich; a member of the Northern Indiana Bluegrass Association and Antwerp Community Church. He was also the original bass player for the first rock & roll band in Antwerp, The Villa Corsairs. On April 13, 1962, he married Carol Griggs.
Clair will be sadly missed by his wife, Carol; seven children, Robert (Donita), Jenny and Scott, all of Antwerp, Darrell (Brenda) of Auburn, Ind., Carol (Gary) Eitniear of Defiance, Lisa (Kent) Adkins and Pam (Ray) Heck, both of Payne; brother, Linton Gene (Donna) Prieskorn of Ann Arbor, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Daisy Stout.
Viewing is Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp. His graveside service is at Maumee Cemetery, County Road 43, Antwerp, at 11 a.m., on Monday, August 26.
