SHERWOOD -- Barbara Jean Delno, 77, of Sherwood, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013, at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center, Bryan, Ohio, where she had been a resident for the past three months.
Barbara was born April 22, 1936, in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Talmadge and Ethel (Moore) Collins. She married William "Bill" Delno on December 6, 1954, and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1990. Barbara was a well known babysitter in the Sherwood area for many years. She had also worked at Syncro in Hicksville and Stockley Ketchup in Paulding. She was a member of Sherwood Open Bible Church. Barbara was an Avon representative for over 15 years. She was a member of the Maumee Valley Saddle Club.
Surviving are her two children, Deborah (Kevin) Tarlton of Scott, Ohio, and Paul Delno of Bryan, Ohio; six grandchildren, Joseph (Renee) Tarlton of Scott, Ohio, Kendra (David) Wessell of Ohio City, Ohio, Jimmy Delno of Bryan, Barbie Delno of Bryan, Tyler Delno and Lindsey Delno, both of Bryan; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, William McMahen of Columbus, Ohio, and Roven Blake of Columbus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; two sons, William J. Delno and infant Bobby Ray Delno; two sisters, Annette Crabtree and Charlotte Lee.
Visitation for Barbara Jean Delno will be held from noon-2 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2013, in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood, Ohio, where funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with her nephew, Pastor James Blake officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Cemetery.
