FORT WAYNE -- Thomas J. Cashman, 75, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013, at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Thomas worked as a PBX maintenance tech with General Telephone for 32 years, retiring in 1990. He was a lifetime member of the Elks and past international president of Tall Clubs International. He was a collector and loved to tinker on things.
Surviving are his son, James (Karen) Cashman; grandchildren, James Russell Cashman and Victoria Cashman, all of Fort Wayne; and former spouse, Helen S. Shafer of Richmand, Ind.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, James B. and Esther O. Cashman; and daughter, Virginia Ann Cashman Hatcher.
The funeral service is Wednesday at 11 a.m. July 31, 2013, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Dr. Rex Person is officiating. Calling will also be Tuesday, July 30, 2013, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
