PAULDING -- Leland C. Heath, 81, of Paulding, died at 12:50 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Mercy Defiance Hospital, Defiance.

He was born March 30, 1932, in Continental, to the late Veron G. and Florence M. (Winkle) Heath. On December 2, 1951, he married Alma Schwartzengraber Baeza. He then married Donna Luxenburg and they are divorced.

Surviving are six children, Debra Milbrodt of Paulding, Sandy (Christopher) Hewitt of Massillon, Sherry Wiles of Brewster, Cathy Heath of Deming, N.M., Terry Heath of Strasburg and Jim Heath of Marblehead; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four stepsons, Chuck Luxenburg, Todd Luxenburg, Mark Luxenburg and Chad Luxenburg; and a brother, Robert (Helen) Heath of Bellevue.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Greg R. Morrison.

Leland retired from the Brewster Water, Electric and Sewer Departments. Prior to that, he was employed with the Nickel Plate Railroad.

A memorial service will begin at noon Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental, with Rev. Chris Hewitt officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday.
