Ruth Fether

FAYETTE -- Ruth E. Fether, 82, of Fayette, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2013, at Hospice of Lenawee.

She was born December 22, 1930, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Harold and Gladys (Warner) Ridenour. She married Garald Fether on December 30, 1950, in Farmer, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2002.

Ruth graduated in 1949 from Farmer (Fairview) High School in Farmer, Ohio, and retired from Fayette Tubular with over 25 years of service. Ruth was baptized in July of 1963, as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and has been a loyal member of the Morenci Congregation ever since. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren, and was a hospitable and gracious hostess to family, friends, traveling ministers, and evangelizers.

Surviving Ruth are two daughters, Sherrie (Thomas) Barnes of Morenci, Michigan, and Teresa (Tom) Dew of Leon, Nicaragua; two grandchildren, Erica (Brandon) Raymond and Jacob Barnes, all of Morenci, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Kermit Ridenour.

The memorial service for Ruth will be Sunday, June 23, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Morenci Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Morenci Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses or to Hospice of Lenawee.
