FLORIDA -- Dianna L. Batt, 55, of Florida, Ohio, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born in Hicksville, Ohio, on September 11, 1957, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Louise (Baker) Williams. Dian, a 1975 graduate of Tinora High School, married Steven Batt on March 6, 1999. She was the former owner with her husband of the Miami-Erie Market in Florida, Ohio. In addition to her love for cooking she had also worked for the Campbell Soup Co. and the Filling Home of Mercy in Napoleon. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; children, Denna Wann of Defiance, Dennis (Tania) Wann of Defiance, Chad (Lindsey) Carpenter of Grover Hill, Todd Carpenter of Paducah, Ky., Lynn (Christina) Carpenter of Defiance, Stacy Batt of Defiance, Kim (Dan) Bischoff of Napoleon, Heather (Tim) Davis of Holgate, and Dr. Jessica Chaudary of Lake Charles, La.; sister, Janice Sue Layne of Georgia; brothers, Lawrence "Seb" Williams of Georgia and Phillip Williams of Georgia; and sister, Rosemary "Rose" Sweet of Cecil.
She was grandma to 21 grandchildren. She also loved her dogs, Tootsey and Lola.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Clero and Glenn Williams; and two grandchildren.
Her family gave her much comfort and joy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, with Father Todd Dominique and Father Anthony Batt officiating.
Her wish was to celebrate her life. Come help us celebrate Dianna's spirit and life Monday from 2-8 p.m. at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance.
