Karl Ruck


WAPAKONETA -- Karl Edward Ruck, of Wapakoneta, died March 29, 2013.

He was born November 25, 1933, in Lakeview, Ohio, to Alfred Karl Ruck and Helen Henrieta Gross Ruck, who preceded him in death. On June 14, 1958, he married Lois Schwer Ridenour. She died June 10, 2008. On October 24, 2009, he married Lila K. Hartman, who survives. Mr. Ruck was a 1951 graduate of Findlay High School, Findlay, Ohio. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a 1958 graduate of Bowling Green State University's College of Business Administration at Bowling Green, Ohio. He spent 30+ years working for Duff Truck Line of Lima, Ohio, as a national account sales manager.

Past memberships included the Lima Traffic Club, Lima Exchange Club, Fort Wayne Traffic Club, Wapakoneta Chamber of Commerce past president, Elks Club, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, American Legion, FOE 691, Lutheran Hour Ministries and the Wapakoneta Country Club for 50 years.

Survivors include a son, Michael (Mary) Ruck of Wapakoneta; daughter, Beth (Mark) Gregor of Bothell, Washington State; four grandchildren, Heather and Jacob Ruck of Wapakoneta, Amanda Wise of Hilliard, Ohio, and Tara Wise, Dublin, Ohio. Also surviving are two brothers, Jim (Lois) Ruck of St. Marys, Bill (Carol) Ruck of Miller City, Ohio; and two sisters, Connie (Ken) Bennett of Defiance, Ohio, and Sharon (Ron) Meyer of Napoleon.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave., Wapakoneta. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Lutheran Church, 302 East Pearl St., Wapakoneta.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
