HOLGATE -- Adelaida Gill, 89, of Holgate, died Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 2013, at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Holgate.
Her Legacy... She was born December 7, 1923, in Mexico, to Tomas and Adelaida (Barrena) delos Santos. On May 1, 1939, she married Felix Gill in Raymondville, Texas. Adelaida was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Holgate, and the Altar Rosary Society. She was a life member of the Holgate American Legion Auxiliary.
Her Family... She is survived by her 10 children, Leona (Andy) Garcia of Napoleon, Raymond Gill of Defiance, Richard Gill of Holgate, Lenore Perez of Holgate, Ruben (Tina) Gill of Paulding, Rene (Karen) Gill of Holgate, Roberto (Beverly) Gill of New Bavaria, Lucinda (Jesse) Rodriguez of Napoleon, Rudy Gill of Toledo, and Lydia (David) Smythe, St. Petersburg, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 16, 2006; two sons, Ramiro and Reynaldo; one grandchild, two great-grandchildren and four siblings.
Her Farewell Services... Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate, on Sunday from 1-7:30 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 25, 2013, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Holgate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
