NAPOLEON -- Lola Emma Sweinhagen, 88, of Napoleon, died peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Henry County Hospital.
She was born on June 14, 1924, in Hamler, Ohio, to the late Charley and Emma (Mahlman) Eickhoff. On February 25, 1943, she married Melvin Sweinhagen, who preceded her in death on May 18, 2010.
Lola was a homemaker and faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, choir member, and altar guild member.
She is survived by children, Judy Martin and Jerry (Karen) Sweinhagen, all of Napoleon, Jeffrey (Penny) Sweinhagen of Grand Rapids, Ohio, Joel Sweinhagen and daughter-in-law, Vickie Sweinhagen, all of Defiance, Ohio; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Rudy Eickhoff.
She was preceded in death by a son, James; great-granddaughter, Stefanie Marie; and brothers, Reimund and Herbert Eickhoff and twin brothers, Alfred and Alvin Eickhoff.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon. A lunch will immediately follow the funeral service at the church. Committal services will be held on Thursday at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance, at 2 p.m., following the lunch. Visitation will be on Wednesday at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
