NAPOLEON -- Helen D. Kenning, 83, of Napoleon, Ohio, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Henry County Hospital.
She was born March 13, 1929, in Napoleon, to the late James and Doris (Marksch) Shasteen. On February 1, 1948, she married Carlton Kenning, who preceded her in death on August 29, 2003.
Helen was a homemaker. She loved to work outside in her yard and always looked forward to playing cards in her card clubs and with family. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon and its Altar Guild.
She is survived by children, Steven (Barbara) Kenning, David (Jane) Kenning and Trena (Robert) Zachrich Jr., all of Napoleon; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Ament of North Versailles, Pa.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Frank and Earl Shasteen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Napoleon. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church.
