NAPOLEON -- Lena Lange, age 96, Napoleon, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Lutheran Home, Napoleon.

She was born October 23, 1916, in Benton, Ark., the daughter of Rollie and Emma (Quantz) Babcock. On March 24, 1937, she married Lawrence Lange and would have celebrated their 76th anniversary this year. She was a homemaker and helper to her husband, a GE Appliance repair man. She was a Sunday School teacher, a member of Westhope Bible Church and a staff teacher and cook at summer Bible camps. She was an active member of the Country Posey Garden Club and also served with the American Cancer Society for 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; three children, Jeanne Balog of Carol Stream, Ill., Lucille (Dale) Eickmeier of Westhope and Lois (Dave) Powers, of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; grandchildren are Joyce (Dan) Cotto-Thorner, Doug Balog, Glenn (Ada) Balog, Stan Balog, Gloria (Jim) Truax, Sharon Balog, Dan (Ann) Eickmeier, Laurie Lawrence, Cindy (John) Arps, Mary (Dennis) Moszkowicz, Gina (Vince) Ambrose, Julie (Dave) Mazza, Steve Serrao, Kevin (Heather) Powers, Greg (Ally) Powers and Jeff (LaNe) Powers. Also are 38 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters survive, Vernice Deller, Warren, Mich., and Coral Kessler, Golden Nursing Home, Napoleon. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marie Keeler and Joan Williams; and two brothers, Orville Babcock and Warren Babcock, and one grandson, Jeremy Powers.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
