Marjorie Ann Dirr, 82, of Defiance, passed away on February 24, 2013, at the Laurels of Defiance.

She was born on September 2, 1930, to Edward and Anna (Schatz) Franzdorf in Defiance, Ohio. On May 2, 1954, she married Alonzo "Lonnie" Dirr at St. John Lutheran Church. Marjorie and Alonzo lived in Defiance. She was the valedictorian of Ayersville class of 1948, a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Defiance County Election Board, and worked with the U.S. Census.

Marjorie is survived by her loving spouse of 58 years, Lonnie; daughter, Diane (Terry) Salisbury of Defiance; son, Mark (Debbie) Dirr of Oakwood, Ohio; daughter, Amy (Gary) Fortman of Avilla, Ind.; daughter, Melissa (Steve) Harvey of Lima, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents and a granddaughter, Hillary Dirr.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home Inc., Defiance, and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, with Rev. Donald L. Luhring officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.
