MILLER CITY -- Joan M. Westrick, 79, of Miller City, died at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at The Meadows of Ottawa-Glandorf.
She was born March 2, 1933, in Lima, to the late Harry and Mary (Schmitt) Barlage. On May 22, 1954, she married Vincent Westrick, who survives in Miller City.
Also surviving are three children, David (Nanci) Westrick of Maumee, Gary (Carolyn) Westrick of Miller City, and Karen (Joe Thompson) Westrick of Maumee; seven grandchildren, Susan (Al) Gahler, Becky (Ben) Klosterman, Mike (Dani) Westrick, Matt Westrick, Sarah (Mike) Felmlee, Jessica (Jeremy) Stillman, and Andrew Levi Hunnaman; eight great-grandchildren, Lillian, Addison, Griffin, and Carrigan Gahler, Cooper Klosterman, Seth Stillman, and Morgan and Rosetta Felmlee.
Joan was a homemaker and a clerk for Putnam County Farm Service Agency. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City, and its Altar Rosary Society. Joan loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked camping, traveling, ballroom dancing, fishing and spending winters in Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City, with Father Stephen Schroeder and Father Robert DeSloover officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where there will be a scripture service at 2 p.m.
