CONTINENTAL -- Richard J. Prince, 86, of Continental, died at 11:10 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013, at CHP-Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance.
He was born April 15, 1926 in Piqua to the late William and Loa Flo (Wilson) Prince. On July 12,
married Darlene Jones and she survives in Continental.
Also surviving are his two children, Jamie (Patricia) Prince of Fostoria and Loa Jeannine (Gregory) Nickloy of Toledo; four grandchildren, Joshua (Karina Ryan) Prince of New York City, NY, Ashley (Jeremy) Keller of Chicago, Emma Prince of Fostoria, and Emily (J.R.) Keegan of Toledo.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Johnny Prince and a brother, Tom Prince.
Dick retired from General Motors, Defiance in 1988 and was a retired farmer. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Dick was an U.S. Army veteran who served from 1944 to 1946 in the European Theatre during WWII. He was a member of the NRA and UAW Local 211. Dick was an avid amateur photographer and fisherman and loved to read. He loved his dogs, cats and livestock in general. Dick loved the Lord dearly and was looking forward to going home to Him.
Funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Heit-meyer Funeral Home, Con-tinental, with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating. Rev. Rick Jones will also be speaking. There will be a military service by the Continental American Legion following the funeral service. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
