BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. -- Harry L. Yaney, 79, of Bonita Springs, Florida, formerly of Liberty Center, Ohio, died Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Windsor Place in Naples, Florida.
He was born January 3, 1934, in Harrison, Ohio, to the late Dallas and Kathryn (Strothman) Yaney. Harry was a lifelong farmer. He graduated from Ohio State University with an agriculture degree. He was a past president of Henry County Farm Bureau, member of the Gerald Grain Board, past president of the Liberty Center Athletic Boosters, building committee member for the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bonita Springs, member of the Liberty Center School Board and 4-H adviser for the West Liberty Champions and Needleworkers. He enjoyed farming, camping, canoeing, traveling and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Wilson Yaney; first wife, Julia Carson Yaney; children, Kathy Delagrange of Napoleon, Gina (Jerry) Hill of Liberty Center, and Mike (Gayla) Yaney of Napoleon; stepdaughters, Donna (Dwight) Parrish, Diane (Jeff) Calvert and Doreen (Tom) Fuery; grandchildren, Clint (Danny) Miller, Calvin (Emily) Hill, Haley (Justin) Damman, Jeremiah (Stephanie) Hill, Jessica Yaney, Christi Miller, Laura Yaney, Sarah Yaney and Carl Yaney; great-grandchildren, Isabell and Paige Hill and Xander and Wyatt Damman; sister, Nancy (Robert) Short of Laguna Nigel, California.
He was preceded in death by granddaughters, Erin Marie and Dannie Jo Miller.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, January 27, from 2-4 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, with a memorial service to be held at 4 p.m.
