Lee Roy Boggs, 75, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

He was born on April 11, 1937, to Clarence and Florence (Huff) Boggs in Continental, Ohio. He married Patricia Mason on June 25, 1966.

Lee is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, son, Lee R. (Mindi) Boggs Jr. of Defiance; stepdaughters, Debra Noffsinger of Defiance, Barbara (Norm) Thomas of Payne, Cathy (Mark) Dubois of Jackson, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Boggs of Continental, Robert (Verna) Boggs of Honor, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Doyle Boggs; sisters, Helen Turner, Anna Goodman, Iris Stork, Erma Tumblin; stepson, Barry Mansfield; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Lee was an electric motor repairman with Mac Electric in Defiance retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Defiance Eagles (Golden Eagle), member of the Continental Sons of American Legion where he served as past commander, member of the Defiance Moose Lodge, member of the Defiance Men's Auxiliary of VFW Post 3360, member of the New Bavaria VFW, life member of the Defiance Sons of AMVETS and a life member of Orioles Nest in Lima.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 6, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. William Mesaeh Jr. officiating. Burial will take place in the North Mt. Zion Cemetery.
