HICKSVILLE -- Donald E. Roehrs, 72, died Friday, December 7, 2012, at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville.
He was born on January 1, 1940, in Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late Edgar and Ruth (Duerk) Roehrs. Donald was a 1958 graduate of Concordia Lutheran School in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. On June 15, 1963, he was united in marriage to Loretta Morrison. Donald served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He worked at General Electric in Ft. Wayne for 36 years. Donald was a member of Community Christian Center, Hicksville. He was a ham radio operator and loved woodworking.
Surviving Donald are his wife, Loretta, of Hicksville; a son, Steven (Susan) Roehrs; a daughter, Pamela (Lou Roy Jr.) Roehrs; five grandchildren, Cassandra, Tiffany, Amanda, Melissa and Sean; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Roehrs and Kenneth Roehrs; special friends, Stacy and Kendra Lemper; and his dog, Duke.
Funeral services for Donald will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Community Christian Center, Hicksville. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-7 p.m. at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
