Karen Memmer, 66, of Defiance, passed away on December 6, 2012, at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.
She was born on September 8, 1946, to Lester and Rosemary (Colwell) Guilford in Defiance. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Richard Memmer, who she married on September 25, 1965. Karen graduated from Fairview High School in 1964 and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance.
Karen is also survived by her three children, sons, Tim (Karen) Memmer of Bowling Green, Ohio, and Richard (Cattina) Memmer of Mooresville, Ind., daughter, Jill (Bryan) Webb of Athens, Ga.; nine grandchildren; brothers, David (Myra) Guilford of Sherwood and Greg (Laenette) Guilford of Ney; and a sister, Diane (Jim) Phillips of Littleton, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 9, 2012, from 2-8 p.m. at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Donald L. Luhring and Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating.
