FAYETTE -- Clayton Glen Butler, 76, of Fayette, Ohio, passed into eternal life on December 3, 2012.
With a master's degree in educational administration from St. Francis College, he enjoyed a productive career as a public school administrator at Mendon-Union, Palo, Mich.; Wayne Trace, Paulding County; Fort Frye and Eastern Meigs districts. He was known for his sense of humor, mentoring, his love of farming and his adopted orphan animals. He loved his family, his family sporting events, reading, county fairs and racing.
Clayton was born in Defiance, Ohio, on August 8, 1936, son of the late Ira and Mabel (Slough) Butler.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Kevin; his brother, Ralph; and his sister-in-law, Merrilan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene; his children, Alison (Randy) Delgatti, Denise (Chris) Dyer, Jennifer (Jamie) Thomas and Karl (Cris) Butler. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mick, Ryan and Julia Delgatti, Alyssa (Josh) Chambers, Desiree' (Daniel) Bailey, Tyler and Jordan Seals, Jakob and Joshua Butler, and Ava and Breann Thomas; his great-grandchildren, Whitleigh and Charleigh Chambers, and Devin and Dakota Bailey; one brother, Frederick (Arlene) Butler; and one sister, Arlene (Herbert) Short.
Visitation will be held today, December 5, 2012, from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, 219 S. Fulton St., Wauseon, Ohio, followed by a memorial service with John Weber officiating.
