HICKSVILLE -- Cameron Ross Snyder, 22, Hicksville, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville, Ohio.
He was born on August 7, 1990, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Steven and Beth (Haines) Snyder. Cameron was a graduate and senior class president of the Hicksville High School class of 2009. He was senior homecoming queen for the powder-puff football game and known for innovative ways of calling himself in sick. He also attended Ivy Tech Community College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was employed by Revstone Contech in Auburn, Indiana, and previously employed by Woodson Motorsports, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Newman's Carry-Out, Defiance, Ohio.
Cameron was an AMA pro motocross rider, being a member of the American Motorcyclist Association since starting his racing career at age 4. Also a member of Tri-State Motorcycle Club, Butler, Indiana, he rode all classes as he grew, placing in the Indiana State Championship Series twice and regionals for the Amateur Nationals. He enjoyed working with younger riders and was a skilled motorcycle mechanic by his early teens.
Cameron is survived by his parents; a sister, Chelsea Snyder-Arnett of Fort Wayne; a niece, Elaine Arnett; grandmother, Nancy Haines of Antwerp; aunts, Sharon (Sean) Pullom of Findlay, Ohio, Susan (Mark) McDonough of Bowling Green, Ohio, Sandra (Brian) Delbecq of San Francisco, California, and Jill (Nathan) VanDyke of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter (Buzz) and Louise Snyder and Samuel Haines.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
